With over 30 years of dyeing experience and 20 years of business experience,
Iris Color Studio provides expert custom-color dyeing and painting for the general public, designers, ballroom dance, figure skating, advertising, performance artists, theater, opera, movies and museums.

Owner Marliss Jensen always wanted to be a Fine Artist. She received her BFA in Painting and Printmaking from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 1968 and soon began working as the painter/dyer in the costume shop of Minneapolis’ Tyrone Guthrie Theater.  Thus began her career as a professional painter/dyer.
In 1985, Marliss established Iris Color Studio (named after the Greek goddess of the rainbow) in order to support her continuing work as a Fine Artist.  For over twenty years, Marliss has successfully combined her artistically acute color-eye with her high professional standards to satisfy countless local and national clients.

Sculptor, photographer, engineer and husband/partner Steve Jensen works as Marliss’ studio assistant at Iris Color Studio.
